Hello, I posted my question in other thread but I didn’t got any reply there. So I am posting here too.
I have a question about police clearance certificate. I am getting confused if I Need a police clearance certificate or not.
Here is my scenario :
I landed in Canada on 2nd Jan 2016 (Almost 3 Years and 8 Months ago ). According to CIC "In the past four (4) years, if you spent 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18) in a country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate from each country. "
According to my understanding this is show it should be calculated :
Subtract 4 years from today's date
03-September-2019 Minus 4 years = 03 - September -2015
Then calculate the difference between 03 - September - 2015 and Landed date 2nd Jan 2016. It is 121 days. It is less than 186 days. So I don't need a police clearance certificate.
I am wondering if someone can please confirm that my understanding is correct and according to myscenario I don't need a Police clearance certificate

Open main application form (CIT0002) and go to section 10 (Page 3) you can see it says:
Note: If you were in your country or territory of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada and this time falls within this four (4) year period, you are not required to provide a police certificate. Please indicate this in the explanation box.
So if you landed in Canada in 2016 and you didn't leave Canada more than 6 months after that, you don't need a police certificate.
Wow. Is the tracker up to date? AOR is now more than 2 months?
When I applied in 2017 AOR was less than 30 days. Now applying for my wife I see people in June just got AOR.
