I am a 25 year old South African male deck officer currently employed on a permanent contract with a large international shipping company wanting to immigrate from South Africa to Canada. I currently hold a South African Diploma in Maritime Studies, Chief Mates COC and have been with my company for 4.5 years. I am now working as a 2nd Officer. Please could you assist me with clearing up a few questions if possible.
1. With my current qualifications do I stand a good chance of qualifying for express entry? I am financially secure with no criminal record.
2. Will I have to resign from my current job and work for a Canadian company to qualify for express entry or is it possible to immigrate and keep my job. With my current situation immigration does however take preference.
3. If I need to quit my current job can I immigrate then look for a job whilst there.
If I cant find a job whilst there immediately can I work in another area of expertise or will this make my immigration Null and Void.
