Hi everyone, so i have a question. We received AOR last week, but our status on the page we submitted the document is still as:

Application(s) submitted!
This is not your acknowledgement of receipt (AOR)

What is the next step, should we just wait?

I think I have ghost update
Ecas shows updated on 20 May 2023, but I haven't received anything.
I applied on April 2nd and received AOR 19 April

You should try creating account on the Application Citizenship Tracker with your UCI and Application Number (both of which will be on your AOR letter).
Then you can see the progress of your application.
See link below for those that submitted their application via the online option (NOT PAPER)

If I am correct, ECAS is the application progress tracker for those that submitted their application via PAPER.

Give 24 to 48 hours after receipt of AOR.

I have another silly question, is there any reason for picking a paper application? We went with web application but i am curious

My paper application was delivered on April 3. No AOR yet.

I want to try to see if ECAS shows my application by any chance :

I am trying to check using the UCI which is the ID number printed right below the name on the PR card. Is there any other way to check the application on ECAS?

I chose to apply through paper because in 2022 paper applications were processed faster. But now I am regretting that decision.

Also people with minor kids can apply online since early April I think. Before that they can only apply via paper.

Just wanted to clarify my understanding.

this is not a mandatory step and there will be no communication from the IRCC to register here, but if we are curious on tracking the status of our application we could register here. Am I right?.

we have a son aged 11 and the system allowed us to apply for him online as well.

And for your paper application decision, everything happens for a reason - do not regret your decision!
