Hi, even I am trying to link the application but cannot. I entered all the relevant info and still it says "we found no applications". My application was received on April 19, 2018.

I think it is safe to wait a little bit more for AOR1.

We never received AOR1 or any communication from CIC. They just received our application and recently, the status changed to "in process" without other updates. Just yesterday, I checked online status as a sponsor, since my husband was able to link our application to GCKey and we got the Application #. There it says for me, we started processing your application on May 17, 2018. Thankful for this, hopefully the SA should come soon. But I'm wondering if there may be a slight change to their MO lately?

My file was transferred to Nairobi Office on May 11 2018 and I am kinda lil crazy situation here. I got a scholarship in another country and the program starts in september so i was wondering if i can postpone my pr application or if i should give try and see if they can grant me z pr before september. Any advice???

In my opinion you should wait for the PR. I'm hearing most people are getting it in 6 mths, some possibly less, just pray you do too. And would you wanna pay $1040 again and do all that work again??? Anyway I dunno if they postpone but I would doubt it... My opinion here is just my thoughts but maybe some more knowledgeable can add to this...

If you are not planning on living in Canada right away you can opt to withdraw your application. Some of the fees will then be refunded to you .

If you go ahead with the application, and you become a PR, you run the risk of losing that status again if you don't actually spend time in Canada.

As a PR you are required to spend 730 days in Canada in a rolling 5 year period. PR is meant for a person to settle in Canada and contribute to Canadian society, hence why there are such requirements. If you don't intend to move to Canada yet, or in the short term, I would suggest that you wait to become a PR until such time you have a clear intent to move.
