What country are you from and under which category are you?
I hope you can hear soon from the MP

I submitted my application on September 7th and got the aor on 9 th. I just called cic and got replied that the bg is still in progress. The agent is very quiet and she can not make an estimation how long until it is finalized. Then, I sent a prepared email to the Member of parliment in my area. I am waiting for the response from the MP.

Did you got points for LMIA?
If yes then you have to attach or send a copy of LMIA, if not then its fine.

Called CIC yesterday. Very nice operater. Wasn't given much information though. Was told that as my BG check is still in progress they can't access my file. Was told to sit back and relax (like thats possible)

Most likely they won't tell you anything more than what you already see on My CIC. Their usual response is that your application is under review. They cannot give deadlines, or when next will your application be updated.

However, you will be much better sending an email to your local VO is your application has been sent to them. They take 2-3 days to revert back, but provide a better picture than a call centre employee.

they are strange, I called CIC twice, I was trying to find if my new passport number is updated there or not.
1st time) The person said he can not see anything. i asked the same question twice. same answer.
2nd time) the Lady said that she can see my new passport number is updated. and which date its updated and few other details. nothing in progress related.

but still my question was, how come the first Rep, couldn't even see anything at all. He must be lying then. but then question is "why"?

I think all the agents have clear instructions from the top management not to disclose information as much as they can.
I called them four times but in vain.

My passport is still in Ottawa and I just got a message that my BOWL was approved
