A friend told me that they called them and all they got is automated responses, telling them to press numbers and some general information about processing times.
What are the numbers you need to press to actually reach an operator?
Yes, you have to go through an automatic system but will get to pick the option to talk to an operator eventually. It then takes a few minutes (20-30 minutes) until you actually talk to someone.

My question is that my name on my national identity document, Ielts result card, ECA documents and education documents, is written as "Ch Ahmad Saleem",whereas in my passport it is written "Chaudhry Ahmad Saleem". Passport officials say they do not use initials in passports. whereas Ch is abbreviation of Chaudhry. In urdu my complete name is Chaudhry Ahmad Saleem. Please guide me what should i do then.

Nope. I usually log in every night before sleeping. Today I logged in and my PR profile staus was showing "updated".I clicked to see messages and profile and noticed 3 changes to my status as informed.
Maybe tomorrow I will get the e-mail related to this.

Mostly when applicants applying outside Canada get background check in progress status, it means expect your PPR from 1-30days sometimes even more than 30 days. This is certainly a good sign.
What was your background check status before it changed to in process?
