I have an additional information to share with everyone as it sounds like an alarming situation to me.
So basically as you all know my current status of the application that it was transferred to Kitchener office on May 9th 2013 according to online status on CIC website, today my lawyer received a letter dated May 9th 2013 that my file has been transferred from CIC-VEG office to CIC-Scarborough office whereas my residence address is of Kitchener, ON.
My lawyer initially adviced me that it was much better if my file was transferred to Kitchener Office as CIC-Scarborough has an active investigation unit. He advised me to contact CIC call center in order to check which office is holding my file. I called into CIC call center and they advised me that my file did in fact got transferred to Scarborough office for FURTHER VERIFICATION.
Now if i connect the two dots, Scarborough office has an active investigation unit and my file instead of getting transferred to Kitchener office got transferred to Scarborough office which means that Investigation unit is performing further verifications on my file.
My background check status is still showing up in-progrss in cic call center systems and now i am pretty worried that what kind of further verification CIC-Scarborough will perform and how much time do they usually take to process such kind of request. I have never lived in Scarborough and have no special ties to that city.
Please anyone with solid experience reply me, i would greatly appreciate your time. Thank You.
P.S: My previous two posts on the last page has my current status of the PR application under Protected Person category.
Hey you reply was fast. Did you ask if you can renew your passport or have to apply for Travel document? And I am just curious what does the Sin number start with five (5) or (7)?

yes I asked her, and she told me that i can go ahead and apply for my passport renewal, unless if my country of origin doesnt want to give me a new a passport then i can apply for a travel document. So i am going to renew my passport and see what happens.
I am in the similar situation.
I had my Decision Made on August 20th and still no response from CIC Scarborough for Landing interview.
Its now more than two months now.
Call the CIC and find out..I am going for two months now, been calling them and they kept on telling me i need to wait for two months so i guess i just have to wait
