Any advice about the interview?
We are both going to it.

my husband just did his interview in February in Santo Domingo, and I attended with him.

Are you the sponsor or the applicant?

My husbands interview was not even 25 minutes, but the applicant before was an hour and a half... my advice is to be confident! they only asked my husband questions that were on the application mainly. and some questions about his experience in Canada, he was here for 2 months on a visitor visa. The interviewer asked a couple of questions about some pictures, they were all from his visit to Canada, and that was it! He was asked to wait for a few days to get an email with instructions to redo medical and get a new police clearance.
We are STILL waiting for PPR.. so frustrating!

I would start gathering all your new evidence and start organizing it!

That is honestly RIDICULOUS.
I'm sure it's hard not to stress right now. The worst part is the waiting and not knowing what's going on. I have like no patience and it's so frustrating to wait for the process I know!!
Sometimes there's just no rhyme or reason. But you will get that email SOON and when you least expect it!

My MP said they are running background and security AGAIN! so it could be awhile still... we are trying for another visitor visa in the meantime

The accompanying pdf to the email had this:
Your sponsor must be available for a possible phone interview on the same date between. If your sponsor is with you, he/she should accompany you to the interview.

Thanks for the advice. Greatly appreciated.

I have the notes. Where in the notes does it have the reason for the interview?

Beginning of next month is the interview.
It should be near the end (the last few pages), where the vo made comments, but if you received your notes before you got the interview date, then it likely wont' be in there. If you order them again, the vo may have put the reason in there, but you may not receive them in time for the interview!

I'm wishing you and your husband lots of good luck on your interview!

It's is very ridiculous, the red tape you have to go through! This whole process is a nightmare! and CIC doesn't make it easy!

ooooh! because you had to resumbit the PC, that makes sense, but I hope they do it quickly! How long was your vv for?

Great idea to apply for another vv in the meantime. I'm sure he will be approved again since he got it last time!
If he's in Canada on the vv and they request the passport, can he send it from Canada and they would then send it back to him with the visa, etc. and he could just "land" at a U.S border? I hope he wouldn't have to travel back to the DR again just for that!

he was granted a single entry visa in november for up to 6 months. he was here december - february and returned to DR for the interview

yup! exactly!
if he is in Canada when they request his passport, he can send it from here and then "flagpole" at the border

Make sure if he is asked something about you and he doesn't know the answer, that he just admits that he doesn't know, not to make something up! For example if they ask him what he bought you for Christmas, if he bought you nothing he needs to suck up his prize and admit it, not say he bought you a necklace, because they will ask the same question to you! Don't need something silly like that ruining your chances!

I am the sponsor. My wife is the applicant.

Why didn't they do a background check during the time before the interview. Those $%$$#^%$^%. Waste of time and money.

I hope your PPR comes soon.

I don't see any comments about interview. Received notes last month.
I don't think I can get new notes in time for the interview.

Thanks

I think our extra evidence is what convinced them. I'm not sure why my husband was selected for an interview, our notes didn't have anything negative or of concern in them. I knew he was getting an interview almost 6 months before the actual date, so I began to collect everything and save every little thing! Our extra evidence that we took to the interview was quite thick!
I say bring anything and everything that you think could be beneficial! We used little post it notes on everything to explain what it was. Also, google possible interview questions and start going over them, and go over the applcation together.
My husband said that with each question, he tried to give them a detailed answer and tried to talk a lot lol, an example is they asked him where we met.. so he gave them specifics.. date, time, place.. who I was with, who he was with.. what I was doing there.

Are you planning to attend? I went with my husband because I wanted to be there for support. They didn't say anything to me except when we were leaving and she said congrats to us both.
