Hey, I'm April 2017 applicant and BGC still says "not applicable." How long does this part take to complete?
I am sponsoring my husband from Afghanistan since January 2017. Alhumdulliah everything went good until the background check. I've been on this back ground check since March 2017. I've contacted them. I have gotten the MP and my Lawyer to contact them and not received any news. I don' understand what' happening. They even made it a shorter waiting period for spousal sponsorship but does not seem like that is happening. Eligibility has been passed, medical has been passed (although it is expired now), he is not needed for an interview. I don't understand why it' talking so long. Is anyone else facing the same problem and gave a file from January of this year ?

i wonder if ndvo is giving priority to indian applicants... it's the only thing I can think of...
It all depends on what officer had your case. I know for sure that they don't choose according to nationality. It' all a waiting game hun.

I am exactly like ur application , mine January ,6 , 2017 .
Everything done and just background still pending , but this is for my husband , MP said , background or security is started on May until now ,
I so scared , because for starting On March now gonna 9 months .
I dont understand why it's taking this long. Maybe because of our country and its conditions but who knows. I hate waiting. It' holding me back from everything.
me too , I don't know why for spouse should be take shorter not longer .
Waiting is kill me . I can't do any thing just I heard maybe takes like 1 year inn background check ..
im not sure, mine never said not applicable, it went from "will let u know hen we start ur background check" to "background check in progress", so from march to july it took 4 months for bcg to begin and its still in process now
im in almost the same condition as u except i applied in March, medical is expired, no interview needed yet, but bgc is still in process since july.....have hope u have just a bit longer till ur one year is up !

Im also sponsoring my husband our application date is july 2016 his eligibility was passed since February and his BGC is in process since February 2017. Idk how long we have to wait for bgc to finish. His medical was expired on june. I believe they r going to ask for remedical after BGC is passed. And after remedical i have seen usually it takes another couple months
