In last Nov, Tracker told me: Background verification status has been updated to In progress. Now, 13 months passed, but nothing changed. GCMS note said security screening in progress by CBSA.

Hello family,

I'm looking for similar experiences regarding the following issue:

My permanent residence application is in progress. Biometrics, Medicals, eligibility, information sharing, and criminality have all been validated. Security didn't start until May 9, 2024, when I received a ghost update. Upon calling IRCC, I learned that my security is now in progress.

I saw this update on the tracker on May 10, 2024.

By talking to people around me, I learned that this update only appears on the tracker when the application is undergoing a comprehensive security screening, which can take months, or even a year or more, to be approved.

Could someone share their experiences on this? Is this really the case? Have you got same update on the Tracker before?
