Is it really that hard to send a letter to all those applications that have been stuck for so long? The lack of empathy from IRCC is honestly ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong—we’re grateful for the opportunity to come here and become citizens in a relatively short time compared to other countries. But we also paid a significant amount of money, and I think we deserve better communication and answers from them.

They didn't even care to give any public announcement or communication about the application tracker which has been down for almost a week and affects every single applicant, so do you think they might care to communicate or show empathy about intended delays from their side.

What bothers me the most is the lack of transparency and timeline. I've been stuck in SS for 18 months, just tell me why I have to be put through this process and give me a timeline and I'll gladly wait. I'd be more than happy to share any information or any document you need, I have nothing to hide. Just don't tell me your application is non-routine, it may take 2 years or 20 years, who knows.

they dont care if u stuck for 5 years even... and no information is provided , news aired before they assign applications to retired agents and it stays there for years and years...
this is the audit on news and the ircc response it will improve its getting worse
media is good idea for PR families so they interview our suffering and air it... many news would be doing it ..... thousands of PRs stuck for years with no information shared... if it was security they shouldnt allow PRs to come from day one ... doesnt make sense the delay for 3-5 years
Fortunately work's been keeping me busy , the annoyance comes and goes but it's difficult to control. I just don't want to spend 5-10k just because I was one of unlucky ones, but I guess I have to if it gets to that point. I am planning to wait until I get close to 2 years.
I thought about going to mandamus in the past few months but ultimately I didn't do it because the case is just going to get stuck in the court after you've spent all that time and money to go through the litigation process. Why? Because IRCC has really messed up CSIS and CSIS has no resource to respond to IRCC nor the court. The fact that IRCC does not have a service mandate removes them to take any accountability on their work, hence why would they care what the public think? The people working there have the ironclad union to protect them, they just take their pay cheques and go home without a care in the world.
I was talking to some friends yesterday who recently got their citizenship. They applied in October 2024!
Many of us still waiting from August 2023. My application hasn’t even updated since March 2024. I contacted MP 10 days ago no response yet.
shouldn’t we find a way to get this to media or organize a demonstration?
The way CIC is treating certain candidates is hideous. We have all been living in Canada for years now and we can’t even get a proper response. I think this happens for citizens of certain countries which still doesn’t make sense after you lived here for so long.

I completely agree with your concerns — it’s really frustrating to see such long delays without any clear communication. I think a practical first step would be to create a WhatsApp or email group so we can stay connected and easily share updates or ideas. It’s much easier to check regularly, and it could help us coordinate better if we decide to raise our voices together in a more organized way.

Referring to my response in some other topics, it's likely your MP's office will not respond to your email at all at this point. They are going through the election campaign and there's no telling if they will get re-elected or not. I think you should wait until the federal election is over and your newly elected MP establishes the office, then reach out them to again.
