I think some people just leave the forum without saying anything after getting oath invitation, which is understandable considering how long we've been waiting. But, it makes understanding the current timelines a bit difficult. I remember a year ago, SS was taking around 12-14 months on average. Now it's taking 20-22 months and still going up
Have you tried emailing them? I've heard if you reach out to them, they might schedule your oath by email. Let me know which center is responsible for your ceremony and I might have their email address.

The only way to know for sure would be an ATIP request for IRCC or CSIS, asking for the SS stats in the past x years : number of security checks made for citizenship applications, duration, number of those that were potentially sped up due to a lawyer getting involved... I doubt this would be redacted.
But yeah, I myself closely know someone who's been in SS for 20 months or so, with no idea when it will finish.

I disagree with the union as I doubt things were actually any faster with the people that they got, especially without any service mandate. However, the important take away is the number of cases piled up at the court is real and CSIS does not have enough resources to clear up the gong show that IRCC created.

Apparently they received 538K immigration and citizenship screening requests in 2024. No wonder SS time is increasing and they don't respond to ATIP requests anymore.
