This BGC is frustrating. My wife has never travelled, just got a passport for the first time. Completed a police certificate, notarized, and translated. She's lived her life in a small village... I just want her here to help me heal for my surgery and before I graduate from my master's!

Feb 13 pre- arrival services recieved
I want to ask at around what time should of my background check start? I can not see the details of my app on ecase. And any advice on how long after pre-arrival letter till they request passport.

Background check doesn't show on ECAS, only on MyCIC account if your application is linked
ECAS though shows AIP, DM

Hey all,

Wife completed interview today. They didn't tell her much expect that the believe everything she said but are still skeptical of the marriage. They asked why we didn't have a wedding (we want to travel instead), and if we are married we are the rings on the wrong fingers in the photos. They didn't deny or approve her, just said they will contact her. Is this normal?

Did you explain when you submitted the application why you didn't have a wedding?
Wanting to travel instead isn't a good explanation I guess because they might think that its all about her getting the pr

Not a fan of weddings. I can spend 8,000 over two weeks with my wife checking out Italy and France or I can spend 8,000 on one night for other people to enjoy... I'd rather spend two weeks with my wife seeing the world.
