Hi soonihope, was it two weeks from the date you mailed until you received the passport? Not sure where in Canada you live, but could you let me know the date it was received in Ottawa and the date it was dispatched?

It took us exactly 2 weeks to get passport back from Ottawa so if your mum is going on July 4 you should have passport back if you send it asap.
is it more than 6 months per year, or more than 6 months for x number of years
Just curious to understand, i was checking my parents visit to USA, they have visited USA couple of time but never stayed more than six moths in a give year, but if we sum the number of months they stayed in 5 years its more then 6 months
Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate.

Why are you getting a refund? The only time CIC will issue you the refund on their own if you are ineligible to sponsor and you checked off in application to not process the application if found ineligible.

in case you are sponsoring your father and mother, you will be paying a total of $ 2080 (i.e. $1100 + $980)
In Year 2011 at the time of initial application you should have paid ($75 + $475 + $550): $1100
Sponsor (Me), per application: $75
Principal applicant (my father): $475
Accompanying family member of sponsored person (my Mother): $550
in Year 2015 at the time of additional documents filling i paid (2 x $490) $ 980
Right for landing fee Principal applicant (my father): $490
Right for landing fee for Accompanying family member of sponsored person (my Mother): $490
Short answer:
If the police certificate was issued less than six months ago, then you're good. Make sure it gets to CIC before the six months are up.
Long answer:
"For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.
For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country."

Thx so much, I emailed Police certificates already, will I receive a comfimation reply later after an auto system reply?
