I tried contacting my MP and it was useless unfortunately ; DM Dec 20 and STILL waiting for oath while others already got theirs :'( Montreal office

Some are waiting for more than 6 months for oath

I was crazy enough to read through the whole document. Looks like a media request through ATIP. Can anyone request there? What have you written in the form to get these?

We have received the citizenship oath invite email today as you predicted.

So happy for you. Happy Montreal is trying to get a standard and predictability so that we can help each other out. I just noticed my AOR date was Feb 9th 2021 and my oath date Feb 9th 2022, will be interesting if I get my certificate around 1 year after they started processing my application (March 16th 2021)

Your case is so fascinating to me, it’s like they forgot to get you in the oath on time, and now they might have to wait until they do a new background check it hasn’t gone back into progress yet though right? Still hope that you might get oath before that happens

2 months after my test was complete I got passport pages request (end September). Then I didn’t get DM until Dec 20th. Then it took exactly 6 weeks until I got oath notice, email a few days after, exactly a week before the oath. - it seems like they wait longer with DM now, so that the wait from DM to oath won’t be too long. Because waiting for 5 months or more from DM to oath is not cool when you feel like the oath can come any time and you can’t have a life

Your test is not even updated to completed? There has been reports of it taking months, but usually because of ID or other issues during the test procedure.

So I hope you don’t have to wait for 4-5 months for DM, but better to expect that and be positively surprised if you get it before.

Another thing that’s irritating is that there is not a cancellation list that you can be on to just get it done. Because it was at least 3 people who didn’t show for my oath ceremony.

We've told you already, Test completed on December 16th is no reason for concern. Most people waiting have test completed for 6 months + . Mine was completed in July and still waiting. There is no rule of thumb. It is random. but you've barely waited two months so if I were to take a guess based on how long others have waited between test to oath, then you have at least a few months of wait ahead of you

I think, you do not need to worry, unfortunately this how IRCC works, most of people waited longer.

I don't think they will let it go to a degree that they would have to do the background check again (too much work for them), but I do believe that they pick people randomly to complete the oath. Like they have a pile of thousands of people waiting and they just pick a name out of a hat, because nothing makes sense XD
