This thread was started exactly two years ago in Feb 11, 2020 by @Garry2008.
So far this has been quite useful for most of us to share information about our parents'/grandparents' cases.
The tracker today shows 440 out of 865 (50.9%) cases have crossed PPR stage.
Most of recent PPRs are from London and CPC-M.
My parents submitted their passports on Tuesday February 8 and received them back via courier on Saturday February 12.
Along with the COPR, a document listing some useful tips was attached. Under a section of 'who can travel to Canada' the following was listed:
You must also
- be coming to Canada to settle permanently (you cannot come to Canada and leave to go live in another country, even if it it's temporary)
That sounds a bit odd considering most people do a soft landing and then land for good later. Anyone heard of it?
Hi, I just got a letter from cic says my Mom's file has been transferred to Vancouver office from mississauga. We are 2019 application and were at the final stage of process. Anyone has any idea why did they transferred my file? Thank you
Thank you Hary0707, what do you mean by 25 days in advance? We already received PP request on February 8th
can they send it to NY VFS?
We are still trying to figure out which way will be easier and not sure if both ways are correct - coming to Canada on PR or sending passport to VFS in NY,USA.
The easiest for your parents may be to come to Canada and do virtual landing.
However, there are many struggling to get invitation for virtual landing.
I applied for my parents sponsorship in June 2019.
In June 2021 they received the medical request and Nov 2021 Pre-Arrival Letter.
In Feb 2022 (a week ago) they received PPR.
I have the following questions:
1. Is there a way to delay their arrival? Their medical will expire in June 2021 and so they must enter Canada before then. My eldest brother is having a baby in 2 months and my mother, who is also dependent on this application (father being principal applicant) has to provide daycare for the child.
2. My parents are also very nervous to travel to Canada and leave their other sons behind, considering COVID. Is there a possibility that my second to eldest brother applies for TRV and gets approved? He is 30 years old, does a 9-5 job, doesn't have a lot of money in the bank. My parents won't feel as much as stressed if one of their sons accompanies them in their travel and helps them settle. Has anyone had a similar experience?
You may send an invite letter to your younger brother and apply trv multiple entry ، no need money in bank ۔Visa will be issued in 30daysif has passport۔
You can not delay if medical expiry in june۔

Why would you suggest that they don't need a bank account statement? (Except I am missing something)
- Assuming that you state in your invitation letter that HE would take care of his own expense then he needs a bank statement to proof that he can indeed afford it. HE also would need to show tides to his home country to demonstrate he'd return back after his visit.
- Assuming that you state YOU would be taking care of his expenses then you'd need to attach your bank statement as proof that you can afford it. Again HE would need to show tides to his home country to demonstrate he'd return back after his visit.
