I don't know why there is no update for the Oct 6th submitted applications. I see a lot of people got PPR's before and after Oct 6th. . Anybody who submitted the applications on Oct 6th any update?

I have study permit and have not still landed in Canada for last 5 months as I am attending online classes. Now I want to apply for visitor visa for my wife. While filling the questionnaire, I landed on supporting documents which states they need letter of invitation. I am not in Canada then how can I give this letter? Need your thoughts. Anyone else on same position and who has got visa, please shed some light.

You can’t write a letter of invitation so you leave it blank.

A letter of invitation is not mandatory. Explain what reasons? Your spouse needs to show funds, ties to home country, travel history etc.

I applied on the new IRCC portal. Background check in progress. Nothing else is updated.

usually the old application gets automatically withdrawn and u get and email saying the same, when they start considering your new application…but fee refund is not guaranteed

Old application through GCKey was automatically withdrawn - Jan 20, 2022
I tried to request refund using the payment receipt number - Feb 4, 2022
Refund received - Feb 9, 2022
