Anybody who has Oath Ceremony on Nov.16/17/18/19, have you received the email with the link and all? Mine's on Nov.18, and still nothing. Just wondering when do people usually receive it. FYI, I'm a Scarborough applicant.

A question for those that received their email invitation with details for the oath ceremony - was your "seat number" left blank? The instructions say to have your seat number ready as you will be asked for it but mine is missing from the document. I've reached out to my processing office (Mississauga) to send me the seat number, if I really need it. But checking to see if anyone else had this issue.

I read it in one of the forums here that it is not needed and blank is not a problem as such.

Finally my status update to Citizenship in progress and OATH schedule on 10 Nov ..
I am travelling to back to home on Nov 26 .. any advise ???? Is it possible to get passport in a week ? or any alternate to travel ?


My DM was on aug 12.

Dear Hafiz Atif,
You may need to revisit your travel plan, I am sure you are going to have online Oath ceremony.
After the ceremony you need to send PDF copy of your Oath to the email address CIC will provide to you in instruction or during Oath ceremony.

Once this step is completed you have to wait for Citizenship certificate that will arrive around 4 weeks (current tentative turnaround time)

Without citizenship certificate you cannot apply for Passport, I believe, as you have to Provide either Canadian Birth certificate or citizenship certificate as required document for Passport application.

I heard they ask you during OATH if you need to travel in next 3 month or like that and during urgent request of passport depending upon upfront officer he/she can also accept application of passport if in system OATH has been updated. I am not sure though .

The accredited agencies will send it to CIC directly. I did mine at F1 fingerprints on Matheson & Hurontario in Mississauga. You can call them to get more details

Very difficult. How will you travel to home country if you do not have any legal way to enter it. Does it allow dual citizenship with Canada?

Hi everyone..
Anyone else had their test in April and still waiting for Oath invitionion..
The last update on my application is from July 22nd, all points are ticked green ( complete) except the Oath...
When I tried calling customee service, they would just say it is because of Covid, etc.. However people around me who had their tests much later, already getting invitations for Oath...
Not sure if there is any way to check what is happening
(P.s. I’m writing from my husband’s old profile, lol, my name is Shushanik)
And yes, i also applied in Jan 2020
They started processing it September 2020

Yes , I am allow dual citizenship with Canada but I need travel doc to come back to Canada .
