Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Went to Service Canada again today, and my certificate was able to be validated! So they took the application this time. However, my citizenship application still appears In Progress (ECAS Decision Made though). The mystery continues... they gave me a date to pick up the passport next week.

Passport Office in person. They booked it for me, as they also fixed my certificate issue

My Credit Card was charged on 8 Sep, how long it will take to get the passports to arrive by Canada Post?

I submitted on Aug 20, still No response, the lady in Service Canada office told me that the passport will take 4+1 week to arrive by mail.

Hi - it seems I can't apply for passport(urgent/quicker) via mail, it seems, I need to go in person.

Do I need to pick up or can they mail me back, for urgent/express once they have mine ready?

Can share some lifehack. If you apply in-person you need to book an appointment upfront nowadays and I did that filling up the form online. The lady called me after 2 business days and asked the question which one I need and how soon, so I needed the urgent one and the nearest and soonest one was in St Catherine. When I get there today an officer told me that since I technically, applied yesterday then I will pay for express, not the urgent which is 50$ difference and tomorrow I'm picking up the passport as it was urgent for me, but express for them.

I can confirm that they start calculating the processing time from the time they booked the appointment. so If your appointment is in a week, you should expect them to not charge you urgent..

I submitted (non-urgent) in person at Service Canada office August 10.

I called the Passport program, and the agent stated it is still in "validation stage".

She said it could take up to 6 weeks to get the passport from today!

your passport application can be urgent even if citizenship wasn’t. But you will need to justify why you need a passport within 2-3 business days.

Called passport Canada today and money being deducted is no indication that it’s being processed. She said, they can bill the card at any stage. She mentioned they are backed up by 2-3 weeks. Our files have been received but 20 working days is a hoax. It’s actually 30-45 working days
