2- can we take the online test while we are out of the country ? or i have to be in canada

Online citizenship test
We’re now inviting some applicants to take the citizenship test online. Wait for us to invite you.
If you’re outside of Canada
If you get your invitation and plan to take the test while you’re outside Canada, send an email to the address in the Eligibility section of your invitation.
In your email

• put “Outside Canada – Citizenship Test” in the subject line
• in the body of your message, include
  • your full name
  • your application number
  • the start and end date for your test

We’ll contact you with your next steps after we receive your email.
If you can’t or don’t want to do the test online, you may wait until in-person tests resume (date to be determined).

Got the email and details for my oath on Aug 19. Sounds like it will take a month to get the citizenship certificate after oath? And then another 10 days after that for passport

Good thing we dont need either to travel domestically at least.

Seeing as they now seem to be allowing people to take the test from outside of Canada, has anyone been able to take the oath from outside of Canada?

By post I believe. Not sure. Sort of worried about that - the mailbox in my condo is so small hope it doesn't fold lol

Can anyone who has completed the Oath provide context and stages of the online ceremony? Do we 1). Start with a private room where ceremony clerk confirms ID then 2). Move to the full ceremony with everyone where we recite the Oath followed by 3). going again to the private room at the end to cut PR card? Is this how the process works?

Trying to figure out if the ending cutting of PR card is with everyone or we go to a private room again with the clerk? Also the invitation says it can take upto 3 hours. Does it take that long or can complete sooner as well?

One person posted that they folded it well that it could fit it in the mail box even though some do not like it to received folded. Cant do much.

Ya true. Hopefully that’s the case that they fold it well. Anyway reading other threads looks like you can add another 30-40 days after oath to complete the certificate and passport process

Wait at least a week after the test. If it doesn't change, give them a call
