Yup, this might be correct but this doesn't explain why @Vigilant 's application is now being linked to his wife + child's application.

Only my child's application is linked to to my application, not my wife's application. Anyway I 'll call them on Monday and ask for further information.

I think that based on that cic article reference, they simply trying to add child's application to the first parent's application so that the citizenship grant date for child gets determined based on the first parent so that if any issues with the first parent's application then they will roll the child's application to the second parent. Thinking it might be the case.

Is it worth it to call cic? My application is approaching a year now by July 31 and it was lasted updated on April23 2021. No news after that. I have applied for gcms notes

I have the same timeline! my app was delivered July 30th and no updates since April 23rd. I also ordered notes; however, I am not sure how long will they take to arrive!

Only for fingerprints the communication happens with Vancouver email. Its same for all, not sure why, hence your file is not at Vancouver.

I have "Decision Made" on my ECAS page with a non-urgent application, but nothing has changed on my tracker for a month. It still says that my language test is in progress and my test hasn't been started - I am exempt both because of age.
There doesn't seem to be any logic to the process.
All we can do is wait it out.

Thats cool. So they started updating the status.

They started processing my application on January 21, 2021. Everything is “In Process” ever since. So frustrating

Seems we were right as they linked my child's application for determination of citizenship grant date only. Today I have "Decision Made" and my is tracker updated to completed for all except Citizenship ceremony which is not started.
