Hello guys, I just check my application status, and today it shows application received since July 30th. What does it mean? Also, it shows my new home address and my old mailing address! which doesn't make sense as I updated my address everywhere!
Application Received:
Your application has been received at the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada officials will review your application and the required documents and citizenship fees to ensure they meet the minimum processing requirements.
Congrats. It's a AOR. Call IRCC customer care and ask them to share the application number and when you will receive AOR by email.
Also ask them what's the primary comm mode. Is it email or mail ?

If you want AOR by email, then call IRCC and make sure that your preferred correspondence method is email and not mail. Your AOR could already be in queue to be sent by mail, but at least future correspondence will arrive by email.

Today I received a phone call from CiC the lady on phone said that you know that your home country passport expired, do you have any plan to travel? I said no I have not any plan to travel due to COVID, she said ok. I asked her can this issue delay my application process she said no. Anybody in the forums have received such call from CIC, or they ask anybody for their passport expiry etc.

Thank you so much for this info. I followed steps you explained, left my number around 3:50 est today and got a call back at 4:40. Agent was kind she provided me with my application number, confirmed my address and method of communication.
She also said due to COVID, officers are focusing on other important processing activities therefore issuing AoRs is being delayed.

Checked the ecas today and looks like my application started processing on January 12, 2021.
Please updated the spreadsheet.
One thing, I found that my current home address is different than the current mailing address in ecas. Home address showing the one in Canada and mailing address showing my address from the country of birth. Is that normal?
What I was told is they will send it to the local office then they will send to local office then status changes to in progress. may be couple of months
