if a document delay more than this time what was the reason and what can he/she do?
What’s the difference between numbers starting from XEP vs EP??

XEP is a temporary number and once the file is in process the X will drop and will start with EP which will be a permanent file number

I doubt that. I got EP number recently as part of temporary numbers they started sending this month.

I think there is no maximum.
I hope so
I think there is no maximum.
Well, I mean there is no official upper limit. It could take forever, theoretically speaking.

I am in my 25th Month, I did the medical upfront, its not written in my account, if I passed it or not, but they mentioned they received it..
They have not sent me any communication since Jan 2020, where they asked for Police certificate and Schedule A for my wife. I sent them those.
After that no acknowledgment, I am sure my medicals would be expired, its been over 24 months, since I submitted them.
Still waitingg..........

As per my understanding, if the medicals expire, IRCC may ask you to do them again, or under their discretion waive the medicals since you got them done once. However, my lawyer said that in most circumstances they do ask you to do them again if they expire. I did mine on Nov 24, 2019, as such they expired now about a day old. Still waiting for DM as of this date.
