Hi, IN order to sponsor my parents i only meet income for tax year 2018 and 2019 as (2017 income is less). Can i count my 2020 income to meet the 3 yrs income requirement (as 2020 Year to date income already meets the minimum income threshold). CIC site says They will reduce the income requirement for the 2020 tax year to the minimum necessary income, rather than the minimum necessary income plus 30 per cent (due to covid). If 2020 income cannot to be counted whats the purpose of reducing 2020 minimum income threshold. Any idea ?

Because even after you applied, you have to keep your income in a certain level to sponsor them. (so when they re-assess 2020 income, they will use LICO instead of LICO + 30%.)
For people who apply with 2017 - 2019 income, IRCC can at any time request income proof for later years until the application has been approved.
Saying that, we do not know if they will delay application of 2020 to after 2020 tax is filed and done. (although low possibility looking back at what was done before)

Thank you so much I really appreciate it. In my situation I was eligible to show 2017/2018 and 2019 income . However we now have newborn in the house so there is 6 family member starting september 2020. in this scenario my income is only eligible for 2018 and 2019 and not sufficient for 2017. however 2020 year to date income already meets the income threshold. Can i use 2018/2019 and 2020 income (show year end paystub 2020 as dont have 2020 NOA yet) is it acceptable any idea?

Frankly, I do not know the rules for 2020 PGP. So I don't know how they will calculate each year's family size. May be just have your information ready and wait for them to announce the details. Hopefully they post all the rules with clarification soon.

I have a complex scenario, where me and my spouse are living separately from this Feb. Now PGP is opening from Oct 13th, 2020 and I would like to apply for it but I am confused as to what should I look at.

1) Should I look at the Income requirements for 3 people (Me and my parents)? If yes, how would I prove Immigration that the calculation I have based is on the current scenario?
What sort of proof I have to provide them?

2) If I look at the income requirements for 4 people including my spouse then what if my case goes for divorce what will happen to my PGP application? Do I need to reapply again by applying for the Interest online and I would have to sit, waiting to be lucky again to be selected to apply for PGP?

3) Also, in terms of Income requirements, I am short with having family size of 4, of income by around $350 for 2017 Income. Does this means Immigration will reject my application based on only 2017 insufficient income? I have way more then that for all the years after 2017 till 2020 (Current)

I would really appreciate if someone can shed light on all of my question.

Thank you very much and good luck to everyone on this forum.

PS: I have posted this as a separate thread as well. Posting it here thinking to get faster reply.

Thanks in advance.

Your 2017 income requirements are not impacted by new born baby in 2020. You are good to go for 2020 program.
Check example 2.

Of course if they don't change any requirements for 2020, seems to less likely.

Hi, I just need some insights. Based on income requirement we met the 2019, 2018, however on 2017 we were short of $1,020.00 only
Will this disqualify us to sponsor my mother? Thank you so much in advance.

No you don’t qualify. That is a pretty significant amount. Any amount under the LICO means that you don’t qualify.

You are still married so your spouse counts in your family size. You’ll need to get divorced to have a lower family size.

Depending upon the time of invitation to apply, the income requirements will be decided.
If they invite you to apply before May 2021 the income requirement most likely will be for 2017, 2018 and 2019 tax years.
On October 13 is just the expression of interest to sponsor. There will be invitation to apply after few months if one is successful to get a spot from the lottery.

Oh, that is so sad. Because for 2017 we made only for $66,395 which is lower than the required Min.Income Requirement for family of 5 ($67,400). One more question pls, last 2017 we were just family of 4 (2kids and my husband). Are they going to check our 2017 income based on family of 4 or are they going to add my mother to the computation of family of 5. Thank you so much again.

Also, what is the difference of LICO and Min.Income Requirement? Are they using LICO or the Min.Income Req? Sorry, no idea at all. Thank you
