I spoke to IRCC agent over a call and they said that submitting photocopy of the PCC should not cause any issue and if and when required, the officer will request to submit original copy of the PCC.

I am Canadian. I am going to Uganda and marrying my spouse in December. They require a letter of single status from the civil registration office or vital statistics office. Any idea how I get this??? I have contacted the USRB, which is Uganda's government who officiates marriages. I have wrote out a single declaration letter and they said that's not what they require. I'm really lost and confused on what they require or how I get what I need. Please Help

I assume you're Canadian? You may have to ask the high commission. In some countries, you swear a statement at the Cdn embassy/high commission that there is no impediment to marriage (as there's no single registry in Canada, the Canadian government can't do much more than htat). That may require further legalisation or acceptance in-country.

But it can be different in each country, consular department of high commission may or should know.

One more question, myself and my spouse are currently living in New Zealand. We have both put our mailing addresses as our current address but now that I've seen in this feed that a lot of applications are sent back, I'm nervous about the time delay if it does.

Should I put my Mom as a representative so it can be sent to her in Canada? Or does this not work if we need to sign something to resubmit?

Does anyone have any experience with this.

From my experience in trying to contact them from outside Cda you will not be able to get through. Have your wife contact them from Canada.

Yes, it's normal. People who applied in March/April are only getting notifications now.
