Keep a copy and send the original now. Try and get a temp number if you can. However I doubt they've reached July applications but doesn't hurt to try. Either way send it with all of your info for them to match it. Otherwise they just might return it. Also send a Webform so they expect it. Good luck.

Hi All, I have called CIC this morning and got the temporary file number.

Application received: Jul 9, 2020
Application opened by CIC on: September 23, 2020
Status of my application : Not known

Though I cannot do anything with the temporary file number, it gives me some relief that IRCC has my file atleast.

Fingers crossed and waiting for the next set of updates.



P.S.

To those of you curious to know the details to contact CIC, call the number +1 888 242 2100 (when given options to select follow the sequence 2-1-1-0. Wait for the agent to pickup the call and start to ask your queries. )

Hi Prameen, First of all congratulation on getting the temp AOR. I got one as well and they received my file on July 14, 2020. I am curious to know if CIC opened your file on Sept 23, 2020 and you called on Sept 28, 2020, why did they give you temp AOR and not a proper AOR? If CIC opened your file shouldn't they have a proper AOR for you? I am a bit confused as logically its not making sense to me. I hope that you get a proper AOR soon .

I sent my application (Outland) and it was received by IRCC on July 14, 2020. I called IRCC Sept 29, 2020 and got a temp number, which is just an indication that my file was received. I just asked if they received my application which was sent in July. My husband had UCI number from 2018 as he tried to get visa to visit me. I have that number plus I have authorization to call on his behalf. They just asked few questions to verify it was me.

I called 1-888-242-2100. We kind of have to listen to the recording. I think I chose option 2 for English, then option 1, and again Option 1 and then Option 0. There was a wait for about 35mins.

From what I understand, you only get a proper AOR when they start working on your file. This temp AOR is just an indication they received and opened your file. Even with a temp AOR your file can be sent back because they haven't gone thru it or verified it.

I spoke to IRCC agent over a call and they said that submitting photocopy of the PCC should not cause any issue and if and when required, the officer will request to submit original copy of the PCC. My file was delivered on July 23, 2020 and I asked for a temporary number. However, I was told that there was temporary file number available yet.

That is correct. No temporary number available yet for my package that was delivered on July 23, 2020.

I am MAY applicant, got temp file no. few days ago. You don't need UCI even if sponsor does not have UCI , few other details can do the trick
