Hi I have a visitor visa to Canada from last year, and it is still valid for the next couple of years.
I am about to submit my study permit application and noticed that there is an optional document 'IMM5257e Application for TRV' within the upload list. My assumption is that I don't have to upload this document since I already have one and it will let me travel to Canada with no issue. Am I righting thinking this way? What will happen if I uploaded this form, will my existing visa get revoked and receive a new one with shorter expiry date on it?

I also have a visitors visa but still uploaded the form when I filled my study permit application.Visitor's visa is different from Study permit.Whether you add it or not they will still get to know you already have a visitors visa. All the best.

I am having Canada's visitor visa currently and recently I have applied study permit on 24th July. Will it increase my chances of getting study permit this time because I have already visited Canada last year and currently carrying visitor visa?

ohh i see, having good travel history will certainly increase your odd in getting the visa/permit, but tbh we don't know how much it would help.
did you upload the optional 'IMM5257e Application for TRV' with your study permit application?

yes...it will definitely increase your chances and for one; economic ties to your home country is now stronger (not suspecting applicant)
all you need is properly chosen study program and enough funds.

Yes I have applied for the master program at Dal, Halifax one of the leading public university in Nova Scotia and Program is perfectly aligned with my previous studies and work experience also My total fee+living cost will be 63k CAD and I have shown 66 k CAD of available funds. Hope this will be all sufficient to convince VO that I am a bonafide student.
It is a added advantage that we didn't chose to stay there when we visited can last year..
However it could be a negative part that your family is in Canada and you might be looking for a backdoor entry for PR

If you stated you have family there, then that’s the issue. But all the same I believe our chances are better.
You can as well visit Canada later and apply from there whatever the case maybe since you already have a valid visitor’s visa.Good luck to us.

As I have applied study permit already last week so I am suspecting whether my visitor visa any longer be valid or not in case VO reject my study permit application.
