January 2020 - citizenship application

Just wondering if anyone has got their status changed from "Application received" to "In Process" recently?

I have the same status - Application Received. AOR was received on March 9th. Looking at the pace at which the AORs are being issued, I believe, since there is no word on citizenship test at least for the foreseeable future, IRCC is now focusing all its strength on issuing AORs and virtual oath ceremonies.

They have not completed issuing AORs for Jan itself hence its doubtful that they would be arranging test. Also i think that they have not found safe solution for test, like oath hence there will be delay. But if they allow online test then it will speed up, not sure when in-person tests would be comfortable for cic.

You cannot consider last 4 months as waited period after AOR(just like one did during pre-covid) as this waiting period is applicable for everyone and all these 4 months got wasted for everyone. So you should assume that you received your AOR 2-3 weeks ago hence you have time to expect the test date in coming weeks/months.

I think until they have found an alternative mode of taking test and interview, the process will aor and virtual oath ceremonies. Hopefully they will find a solution by August.

I sent my application on Jan 29th but it was just regular mail as CIC requested so I don't know when(or if) they received it. Where do you guys check status?

Normally even when sending with regular mail you can request an option « Signature required » , so once the package delivered and signature obtained it will reflect in the tracking info. But if there’s no tracking, then you can’t check when it was delivered..

There must be many... Have you tried using ecas with your UCI to see if you are in the system?

My papers were delivered on Jan 17 and yes, also still waiting..Seeing people receiving AORs for apps submitted on later dates, I went to double check my proof of delivery from fedex, and my mailbox hoping not to find there a returned package..
Stressful times lol

It doesn’t work. I think it will work only when the file has been actually entered in the system. But no AOR means it hasn’t yet been entered.

same mine was delivered on January 23 and i haven't received any AOR yet neither the application was returned. hoping for the best

It doesn’t work. I think it will work only when the file has been actually entered in the system. But no AOR means it hasn’t yet been entered.

So sometimes their is a timing delay as AOR is system generated...

Are you talking about this note. if so then its not the case.
"Same here ! Application sent November! AOR January! Started processing February 10 and since then I didn’t hear back from cic! "


Looks like its moving to Jan end. from facebook group:
"Delivered Jan 29 2020 and I just recieved my AOR on July 21, 2020"
