It doesn't matter if your visitor visa expired at the time of sponsorship. So, that is not the reason to worry. Did you guys submit enough documents to support your relationship? If they have doubt about relationship, usually that is one of the reason for delayed files.

Thanks very much to share your knowledge, got little relief, we submitted enough photo & other social media chat documents, are they don't asking for more relationship supporting documents in 17 months ? But i got GCM NOTES & after your suggestion i read my GCM NOTES & found this Notes " GCM CHEACK : No relevant/material information found for sponser , Sponser Eligibility Decision : Passed " what's of this means ?
can we submit more relationship documents without asking ?

Montreal Office here. They are still reviewing the eligibility. No background check started. I've been trying to call but the lines are always full.

My timeline is
August 3 they received my file
October 30 they asked me for medical I submitted my medical on November 8
March 9 they approved my wife eligibility for sponsorship and they asked me to pay my PR fee that I already paid
After that in June they asked me some additional documents
On July26 they transfer my file to our local office which is VANCOUVER
As per today almost 6 months my file sitting in local office my consultant contact them and they replied that

This is in reference to your request for an update on the processing of your application. Your file is currently
in queue for review and very soon to be assigned. Our office will contact you if any additional information or documents are required.
Anybody can please tell me what will be next step and how long it will take?

Hello. I applied inland. I am waiting to get my PR card. I am away right now but my house sitter says an envelope just came from Service Canada. Could this be my card or will it have a different "from" or sender than Service Canada. Thanks
