Yes, the letter that went out on Sept 27th has country specific requirements: for India it is:
Birth Certificate (in case Birth Certificate is not available / late registration of birth then school / university certificates which have DoB identified will work
Voters ID card
I am assuming you are referring to the documents requested in the mass / generic Sept 27th letter; if so then
Submitted on Friday (Sept 27th itself) & myCIC says (no change)

But in my case this could be because all requested documents in the generic email (except for Travel Form) were already submitted as a part of the application. I am not sure anymore what to believe.

not everyone received the letter. Check posts from a few pages back as well as the tracker. You will see who all received the letter. The people who have received letter are all who I believe have (at minimum) Biometric requests...
@robertp@YULIA-2016 I have received Biometric request today 30th Sep for my parents. There was an email saying you have new message. When I opened my linked application it asked for Biometric only. Kindly update line 126 or 127 not sure.

So, were you able to submit the documents online? I can submit my parents - 10th grade or university certificates as they don't have any birth certificate/late birth registration proof.
Do we have to attach any explanation letter or affidavit if the birth certificates are not available? Trying to get ready for the next steps.
Yes thank you. I don't think my decision made will be done sooner because I am co signer with my Wife her application reached CIC on 22nd May she received AOR end of Aug. once her parents application go in process then may be CIC will evaluate me and my wife both applications together I think

Hi everyone our parents ecase status went from received to in process since sep 19 . But no decision made for sponsor yet. I see people getting it very next day after getting in process and biometrics request same day or soon . My parents are coming to Canada on visitor should i tell them to wait till biometrics or there is another way biometrics can be done while in canada?
Last I check was that permanent residence applicants can't get it done in Canada . That's weird and inconvenient for parents coming to Canada or are in Canada currently.
I sent my parents application on June 21 2019, I have not recieved any information after that, did anyone recieve the responce/ acknoledgements? useully howmuch time cic takes to give tracking number.

Yes it is very inconvenient that they don’t have any facilities to do the biometrics in Canada.
They say thats why some eligible PR applicants can get exemption if they are applying within Canada, and they have exempted some parents too as they were here when the initial application was submitted.
But the ones coming later after the application has been already submitted with the back home residential adress, they are not providing any exemption for them, the only few options for them are:
- either wait for the bio request before making plans to Canada
- or if they have USA visa, do it there or in Mexico (without visa but its expensive option)
- or go back to home country again
I am eagerly waiting for bio request for my parents as well, as they also have plans to come.
I asked IRCC on twitter about any plans of opening bio collection centres in Canada in the nearest future, as there was an announcement early this year that they will be opening these centres in 2019.
Its almost end of 2019, I don’t know if they will really be opening them in this year or not.
