This is my mom's application

Online Application: July 13, 2019
Submission Confirmation: July 13, 2019
Biometrics Collection Letter: July 14 2019
Biometrics submitted and updated on account: July 17, 2019

When her biometrics were taken they also took her passport, is that normal?

Where did you apply from?
In my opinion It can be good signs of approval On the other hand if it was a refusal they wouldn’t take the passport

Yeah I thought so too but it's VFS and I believe they are not the ones who decide if she gets the visa or not.

Based on: Purpose of Visit, Financial, and Travel History.

This time we reapplied with more money...Day to Day Itinerary, and everything else from the first app. Plus a longer, detailed LOE.

Approx processing time for Philippine application is 14 days per website.

Question if you guys know. They will be travelling in the US on Aug 23, 2019. Do you guys know how long is the processing time for the stamped passport after sending? Also, is it possible to send the passport from USA in case it will not make it in time before they leave on Aug 23?

If approved they should know by about Aug 1st. If so that should be enough time to send in and get the passport back before the 23rd. Not sure if it can be done from the US...

Been checking everyday and no updates, we didn't even get the eligibility review notice. Does that come as a message too? Does that mean they haven't even started processing her application? Lots of questions :/

Eligibility Review is just on the account once you sign in. When you click to see the statuses, it will say "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements"

No actual notification.

Nothing else will change until they are about to make their decision. Unless you by chance have a request for more documents or information. But that's rare.

Thanks! In that case its been under review for more than a week now. Submitted documents online on July 13 and processing time in my country is 15 days. Keeping my hopes we receive an update this week!

Biometrics submitted July 10
On gc account my dad n mom have different dates for biometrics, showing as completed, although both went for it same day and of course applied together.
For father: July 10 completed
For mother July 14 completed
Profile stuck on background check ever since.

Submitted Visitor Visa application for my Mom, Dad and Brother on July 21st. Interestingly Biometric Information Letter got generated only for my Father and Brother on July 22nd and it has not been generated for my Mother yet. Is that normal? Has anyone seen a case like this?
Is there something to worry about? They are in India.
