Technically, you can only upload scanned copies of an "Original" document. You cannot upload "Original" document ... Since they want "Original" documents, you have to post them.
If you have received a request to send "Original" documents, you can follow these steps:
1) Scan and Upload requested documents to GCKey/Webform/Email (choose only one method of sending online)
2) Mention there with cover letter that You will sending originals of these documents by Fedex/DHL/ETC including Tracking number (i.e. Tracking Number : XYZ)
3) Finally, Post Your Original Documents to your respective Visa Office.
This way, you and Visa Office will have official record of what you have sent them.

Please update the spreadsheet with the following: I received a request for an updated Schedule A(background declaration) on December 12, 2018 and sent it via webform on December 13. This is after sending off a previously requested updated Italian police clearance approximately a week ago.
In relation to this request, my medical expires this coming Saturday. My background check has been in process since January 2018. Aside from my extensive travel history, what else could be holding up my background check?

I should add: received confirmation from LVO via email that my eligibility has passed.

I emailed my lawyer ,
His words are, in my experience, 2nd marriage cases take longer than normal cases.
When I initially completed the file to send it off , he had told me the same thing , that you would have to wait a bit longer than usual straight forward cases.
Plus “ interview “ is more than likely to happen
spousal sponsorship ka case 6 months to 12 months me hojaata ha ... if your case is straighforward... chahay LVO me jab bhi jaaye..
so is hisaab se Oct walay cases nimat jaanay chahiyen..aur kaafi saaray nimat gaye hain
Hello Friends, received good news today! I was not really an active member but would like to thank everyone and for all those who are still waiting I will keep you in my prayers and I pray that everything works out

Yes, usually it does effect the background checks but not always. I saw some applicants with no travel history and their background checks took more time then those with a lot of travel history. I lived only in Sweden for 7 years and my background checks are going on since May 2018. I am an October 2017 applicant
Another thing if your background checks started early it usually takes longer time
