I went to check for any updates on my online application, and the below message popped on my computer screen. Please let me know if this happened to you as well. I want to know if it's my account specifically, or if the system is down/maintenance. I checked the IRCC twitter and it states that some systems are having technical difficulties. I just want to confirm with all of you.

I've been waiting 5 hrs in the ORD airport and Air Canada doesn't let me to board cause your system is down. I have my email approval confirmation. They are calling you and you can't confirm my eTA because your system is down. When will it be fixed? Status please

Its all my fault, I reported a technical fault as I have been unable to link my PR application and OWP, sorry

Ok, so its a major problem then.
Even so, with technical glitches, they can take time to repair, if they don't know what is wrong.

Not sure why don't they have backup servers-
to figure out the correct time is IT Folks job that's what they are paid for

You would think they would have a back up plan, even if only to let people fly, and let CBSA sort it out in Canada.

Some processes are too big for back up servers.
Some glitches affect back up servers.
Some glitches may actual be physical server damage, or a connection issue caused by a third party.
The possibilities are endless. Why they dont have a back up PLAN of some description, and better communication with people, is mystifying.
Looks like a scheduled maintenance that went wrong...
