I went to check for any updates on my online application, and the below message popped on my computer screen. Please let me know if this happened to you as well. I want to know if it's my account specifically, or if the system is down/maintenance. I checked the IRCC twitter and it states that some systems are having technical difficulties. I just want to confirm with all of you.

I've been waiting 5 hrs in the ORD airport and Air Canada doesn't let me to board cause your system is down. I have my email approval confirmation. They are calling you and you can't confirm my eTA because your system is down. When will it be fixed? Status please @CitImmCanada

Some processes are too big for back up servers.
Some glitches affect back up servers.
Some glitches may actual be physical server damage, or a connection issue caused by a third party.
The possibilities are endless. Why they dont have a back up PLAN of some description, and better communication with people, is mystifying.
