Just curious, do we need photos a 3rd time? (the original process asked for 2, the landing interview they asked again for 2 but only took 1)

No, if IRCC thinks your photo is good.

that’s messed up man. Should I go to service Canada and try to the SIN. IRCC told me today my file is validated and Pr card is processed. And service canada should have no problem with that. They ask me to go to service canada again to get the SIN. They saw on IRCC system I’m officially PR and IRCC received my landing copr already in the system

COPR can only be used to apply SIN within one month since validated by a CBSA officer. If the period has passed, you have to use your PR card.

It will be approved soon. Photo request may not come as yours got updated. Once updated, it will go for card production. Hope this helps.

Update for those who received a photo request and sent their photos to CPC - NovaScotia.

just got off the phone with IRCC Service representative...
he is saying that photos received on or before June 4th are currently in process. He doesn't know when it will move to the next batch and what date this next batch will be. All he is saying is to wait till the cards are mailed.

Background :
Landed on 19th April, 2018. Me + Spouse + 3yr kid.
Got Photo requests on June 4th and mailed (express post) fresh photos which were received on June 18th. No updates till now.

I landed on 4th April.I got photo request on 22nd May and I sent photos on 5th June by ordinary post.On 11th July, my profile got updated but no change in Status. I also called CIC, the agent said that they are processing the photos before 4th June.
However, when i told the CIC agent that I got a profile update today.Then the agent checked in his system and said that yes your profile has been updated today and it means that your photos has been accepted.Wait for another couple of days for PR card.

The status is not Approved yet. As per the threads, people got approved status after 2-3 days of ghost update. Most probably It should be approved on Monday.Fingers crossed.
