I got selected for my parents sponsorship. My quick question, is the income criteria of "family income" means myself and husband together or it is just mine that will be considered.
The thing is my 2015 income is bit less as I was self employed however, family income (with my husband) meets the criteria.
Any insights will be appreciated.

Congratulations! This is wonderful news! You are so lucky to have got this opportunity to sponsor your parents.
Your husband and you can apply as co-sponsors. When you submitted the interest to sponsor there was a section that spelled out how much you need for each Financial Years LICO which you had to tick yes in order to submit your interest to sponsor. Did you tick yes?
I got the insurance here: https://parentsupervisa.ca/ after checking the other quotes.

It seems like the coverage is in $$? It's not like say our provincial health care premiums format where it just covers all consult and procedures?
how much is enough in $$ terms? Looks like they only go up to $100,000 coverage. That's not enough for things like an AMI with stent or Cancer treatment.

As long as your spouse is Canadian citizen/PR, and his 2015 income was earned while living in Canada, then if he's a co-signer you will combine your income with his for 3 previous tax years.
He must also be counted in your family size regardless if he's a co-signer or not.
To be honest this is the first time I have looked at the super visa and medical insurance option. The insurance plan is not sufficient to cover the health care costs of an elderly person living in Canada. $100,000 coverage is too little.
I'll go ask around whether they have more comprehensive packages. I'd rather pay a $100,000 in insurance premiums and make sure everything is covered for their entire lives than to play around with possible charges that can go into the millions. Mind you, most physicians don;t even know how to bill foreign patients. What is considered a reasonable fee? I am not aware of any guidelines.
I do have a friend whose father visited them in Edmonton and they did not buy travel insurance. He had an AMI. The bills went into excess of $500,000 before they finally got him fit enough to fly back to his home country.
So even with the travel insurance I am guessing the coverage would only have been $100,000?
