Hi, need little help can anybody tell me if a police certificate is require for Canadian citizenship? I came to canada in Dec 11 2014 and became a permanent resident on the same day.
As I'm planning to file my application do I have to submit police certificate for the time i spent in my country before entering into canada and became a PR.
I found out getting police report from home country is a lengthy procedure, your feedback will be highly appreciated.

I found out getting police report from home country is a lengthy procedure, your feedback will be highly appreciated.

Assuming you apply today, you'd need to consider the past four years, which means the counter starts on March 7, 2014.
You became a PR on December 11, 2014. There are 279 days between those two days.
If you spent all of those days in your home country you will need to get a police certificate from that country (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...n/medical-police/police-certificates/how.html has the instructions on how to get a police certificate. Some countries are exempt, so do check the list).

(Note that it's a total of 183 days or more over the last four years, even if that number of days was reached over multiple trips.)

You can postpone your application until the time you have spent in your home country is less than 183 days, at which point no police certificate is needed. This may prove to be the faster option, depending on how long the process to get the police certificate is.
