It says - "The additional documents you provided are being reviewed.". It was uploaded in on 25th August. When I sent email to CIC two weeks back, they said everything seems to be in order with the application and they don't need any additional document.

Funny system, I think its just gathering dust.

Even after you get PPR, you will see same status messages in your CIC account.
Like

"We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements."
"We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

Once they issue the visa it changes to "Accepted" and shows "A final decision has been made. Please see the final decision below.".

Hi,
I want some advise.
I am currently on a work permit and working with an employer in Ontario, I have submitted my PR application through Express Entry - FSW (Inland ofcourse ).
I want to change my employer, would this impact my application in any way?
Am I supposed to inform CIC about this?
Is changing employers advisable during PR application in progress?

Mostly correct except

will not be there. Before you get PPR, it will be:
"We do not need any additional documents".

My additional documents changed to not needed. But bgc is N.A. yours did changed to we are processing

I got PPR but the status messages are as I wrote in the post.

Getting PPR is important than status change but when your waiting since long change in status gives you hope.

No one can really tell you about IP2 to PPR. Some get it in 3 to 4 hours. Some take days.
PPR to COPR depends on your visa office. If it is Ottawa( i.e. you live in USA or Canada ), it is approx 12-14 working days.
I have heard of other visa offices ( singapore and New Delhi ) to be a bit slower.

My additional documents changed to not needed. But bgc is N.A. yours did changed to we are processing

@ray_18 when you got the PPR email, your Bgc status was Not Applicable in CIC account?

I got the passport request today. My status messages haven't changed in CIC (same as @sam9589 mentioned). Here's my timeline:
AOR: Aug 22
PPR: Oct 18
I didn't really check the in between status updates.
