I did not know there was a step in between AOR2 and BGC. Can you link me to more info on this or a section in this forum where it is elaborated more on?

Not every step has a name or "status" on the online accounts. There are many, many steps they go through to process the applications. For most people it takes months for their background check to start after receiving AOR2, and lots happens during that time frame (post-AOR2, pre-BG check). You just don't hear about any of it in the form of updates from CIC or status changes on your account.

I got the Mississauga email too! (Canadian sponsoring my American Husband) So that's AOR2? ECAS hasn't changed for me yet, so I wasn't sure...

Yes it's AOR2, and your ECAS will never change. You can check out the consolidated spreadsheet and Missussauga processing threads for more info, but those kept in CPC-M will never go to "in process" on ECAS. It will eventually go straight to DM

I am sponsering my wife and i got an email on Oct 6th that her file is being forwarded to VO in Bucharest for further processing is that the AOR2? or will there be another email sent?

I submitted everything on Aug 23rd and file got transferred on Oct. 9th to NDVO. Its normal. Dw.

Today I checked the client app status it changed in to (in process ) but I still didn't get any email from the cic . Should I receive an email first then thr status changes to in process?? Or it doesn't matter

There has been no movement on my file for a while since I received AOR2 (which I expected) but when I log in to my account it shows my action is required but I have submitted all the requested documents (Sch A & Police Clearance - check the image link).
I also called them and the computer mentioned that they are reviewing my eligibility and the background check hasn't started yet. I already received a letter from CIC informing that I am eligible to be the sponsor! I could not speak to a real person to ask this questions in the call center because apparently they are too busy to pick up my phone call. I will try calling them again but any input/suggestion from you guys?

this is fairly common -- mine has been that way since July 10 and i do not have to submit any other documents. You can email your vo directly and verify if they need more documents though if you want to know. Its common that your background hasnt started yet, you are a July applicant. there are still people from feb and march waiting for theirs to start. unfortunately, no one can tell you exact time lines as each application is different. you will need to have patience and trust the system.

I dont have the exact submission date for police Clarence (it was submitted before the deadline) and the Sch A was submitted on AUG 30
