For Schedule A question 6, it asks what the person was doing after age 18 till now. My spouse was at home helping her siblings and mother with household work even when she was not married. Should I still select "Homemaker" there - think homemaker means house wife

As I posted my personal issue here before thats I want to go back to Canada while my husband has left to UAE for job. I have car financed and student loan. Here is my situation now.. my mother inlaw didn't let me go back she was really rude to me and told me that i dont want you to go back and work, you need to learn cooking cleaning as all woman do in Pakistan, I found my husband helpless because he doesn't want to hurt his mother feelings. Im really depressed im civil engineer just graduated this year and its really hard for me to change myself, and live like uneducated woman.
here is the thing you need to tell your MIL, you are NOT a Pakistani woman. If she wanted an educated woman who'd sit at home and cook and clean all day then she should have gotten her son married to a Pakistani girl, lots of educated stay at home women there. Dont let her dictate your life. And your husband im sorry should have supported you. MIL has lived her life her way, this is yours. Don't become part of statistics of women who suffer because of in laws. tell MIL to mind her goddamned business!
It is a great accomplishment for u to become a civil engineer but at the same time learning how to cook and clean will not make u uneducated... it will help u in a long run if nothing else... for example if ur husband loves his mother food ..it will only bring u closer to him by having the same taste in ur hands or cooking the same way...and maybe u can learn tricks ans secrets of cleaning certain things u might not have known...
Maybe u can try settling with you m-i-l on the grounds that u give her a month or two of ur undivided attention where u learn eveything tht she wants u to learn and then after tht u get to go to Canada and sort out ur matters. Its a win win situation. Try speaking to your mil about it first and if she refuses the idea get ur husband involved to make her agree by humble and gentle words from his side on this.
This idea that cooking like his mother will bring him closer to you is frankly disgusting! It is not a woman's job to clean or cook, or seduce her husband with his moms chicken tikka recipe!
It is the job of the people living in a shared space to make it habitable. The same logic could apply to the husband that he should go get cooking lessons from the wife's mother so as to make his special place in her heart! The member doesn't need you to tell her to feel okay with her situation, she wants an out. Also all cooking recipes and cleaning hacks can now be found on Google, dont need to put up with MIL for that!
think its standard time for Pakistani PAs? Where would you have travelled to, to make it complicated?

I am new to this forum. I just immigrated to Canada last week. I am currently engaged at the moment and will be going back to Pakistan to marry my fiance in December 2017. I had a few questions and was wondering if anyone of you could help me out.
1. I read the forum a bit and found out that applying for a visitor's visa for my fiance could be a red flag, but should I go for it?
2. Can I apply for a visit visa for my fiance once we are married? what are the chances of getting a visit visa after marriage?
3. Can I file the application for my spouse through the normal spousal process and at the same time apply for her visit visa as well?
4. What are the documentary requirements for the normal spousal process
5. Any other way that I can get my wife to Canada as soon as possible after marriage?
Thank you in advance everyone for your time to help me out.
Your fiance is better off applying for a TRV before the wedding and the application is submitted. Another member did the same, his wife came with him to Canada stayed for a couple of months and then went back. This helped them build history together, she got to experience the life here, looked good that she exited the country within the allowed time on her TRV etc. So if you are planning on applying apply before the wedding. That way she can accompany you after marriage and spend time here with you.

For a Canadian born child, you should:
-get a long-form birth certificate (if birth in Ontario)
-get pictures of baby/child done, and then apply/get Canadian passport of the child
Then the parents with child go to pakistani consulate and apply NICOP for the child.
Remember to take originals and photocopy of documents. Details are on Consulate website.
Make online appointment before going so you're served early, via their website.
This is what we did for our child born in toronto. SNICOP applied and received within a week by DHL!

I don't agree with your wording. Giving someone advice to tell off their MIL is not good. This will only lead to more problems in their life and marriage.
These issues can be solved amicably and with better/more communication.
Do educated women not cook and do housework for their husbands and kids ?? Do you keep servants for this in Canada for housework ?
No wonder divorce rates are high now cuz of lack of patience/respect and tit-for-tat fighting in families.
Why are these girls going to pakistan to marry if they have too many obligations/loans/jobs/study and can't leave Canada for a little while?
If they're "not pakistani" as you say, then really shouldn't be marrying with someone from Pakistan.

"I don't agree with your wording. Giving someone advice to tell off their MIL is not good. This will only lead to more problems in their life and marriage." You are entitled to your opinion, I to mine. The member can decide for themselves what they want to do in this situation.
"Do educated women not cook and do housework for their husbands and kids ?? Do you keep servants for this in Canada for housework ?" Happily married couples share the burden of finances and house chores, whether they are Pakistani couples or Canadian. You just equated a woman to a domestic servant and yet you think my stance on these things is questionable but you have it all figured out! Also we do you have companies who can send cleaning staff once a week to the house if the family can afford it.
No wonder divorce rates are high now cuz of lack of patience/respect and tit-for-tat fighting in families. The success of a marriage shouldn't only depend on the woman bending over backwards and not living her life to the fullest. Men also have an obligation to make their married life a success.
Why are these girls going to pakistan to marry if they have too many obligations/loans/jobs/study and can't leave Canada for a little while? People marry because they are in love and want a family together. Also both men and women willingly enter into this union so Pakistani boys can opt out of Canadian immigration and just marry someone local who their mothers would approve of.
If they're "not pakistani" as you say, then really shouldn't be marrying with someone from Pakistan. Great advice.

The point here is that her MIL shouldn't be trying to control her life, and that's all. You have to try your best to solve things amicably, and that way you won't have any regrets because you know you tried your best to be considerate.
As far as the domestic discussion goes, there is no right or wrong answer. It's just an opinion and the best scenario will differ from couple to couple.

I agree with Kinza if my MIL wanted her DIL to stay with her and do all the work why she chose someone from Canada instead of Pakistan. I never disrespect her and will not in future (this is not what my parents taught me) but atleast she should know that i marry her son NOT HER, when it comes to cooking cleaning i have learned everything before i got married and my husband always compliment it. I have spent 1 year with my MIL, did all the cookings cleanings each day and had enough savings to pay for my car and loan. Now its time she also has to show some respect and appreciate the time I spent with her and let me go live my life.
Just the regular ones.. South East Asia and the Middle East. 6 or 7 only. The thing with travel history is just that they (CSIS etc.) need to check with each country's immigration if there have been any over-stays and such stuff. ( I think).
