Thank you for the answer, another question I had is do photocopies of documents that are already in English need to be notarized also? I do no see any requirement in the application checklist or forms that mention notarizing them. For example my nikahnama is already in English, when I send a copy, does it still need to be notarized?
All important id docs need their copies to be certified. I do remember reading somewhere on the GUIDE that they need to be certified and in Pakistan that person is supposed to be the notary public. Who also needs to print in his handwriting "i certify this to be a true copy of the original document" followed by document name, his name and designsture and the date he certified. Its in the guide. However a frw people here have said they didnt get their notories public to write this sentence and were fine. But im pretty sure important doc copies need notorization. Read the guide in depth.
@Screenager .. This part of MyCic is as broken as the Kardashian Family, the Ozone layer and Majnuu's heart in 1650 AD when he caught Laila red handed cheating on him with his own best friend.
Laila didn't cheat on Majnu .. it was King Arthur's heart which got broken because Guinevere cheated on him with Lancelot .. get your history straight!! lol
King Arthur and Guinevere, we cant even pronounce the girl's name right in this part of the world, so its laila majnuu for us. What matters is Majnuu's heart was broken, jaisay bhi tuuta

I was looking for clarification on whether i need to get copies certified. as far as i can see, it does not mention anywhere on the guides that copies need to be certified, only time they need to be certified is when a copy is not in English/French and transalation is being submitted. which is not my case. all my documents are already in English.
so i just wanted to make sure there is no need for me to get copies of original English documents certified as it is not mentioned anywhere.

Im quite sure the photocopies of id docs need to be certified/notarized to ensure they are not doctored/tempered in any way. It wouldnt make sense for photocopies to only be required to be certified/notarized in cases where translations are required and not when the docs copies are already in english. Doesnt make sense to be honest.

Make sure all photocopies are clear and easy to read. Other than copies of original documents used for translations, photocopies do not need to be certified. Don’t send originals unless we ask for them, because they will not be returned.

Posse .. my hubby even got the copies notarized .. why? to save time! LVO is going to take time to verify .. wudnt you want that time to be spent sending you approvals quickly than later?
just get them notarized .. save yourself the hassle of getting them done afterwards ..

Posse is correct. Just read in the guide that photocopies need to be clear and not certified unless they are in another language and require translation. Mainay khwaamaKhwaaa notary public ki eid karadi.

i said that to my hubby as well, but his friends who applied to Canada they got all photocopies notarized, regardless if they were translated or not .. anyways, your choice ..
