Can I continue to work while my TRP application is in process ?

Hello Everyone
I came to Canada for study purpose in 2019 and got my PGWP for 3 years (2021-2024). Unfortunately I had an DUI and was convicted in Canada while I was in my work permit status. So immediately, before the expiry of my PGWP itself I have applied for TRP along with work permit extension. Now my original PGWP is expired and my (TRP&work-permit extension)application is still in process. So my question is Can I continue working as I have applied for work permit extension before the expiry of my PGWP?

In theory, you can but why would you be eligible for TRP? If not, you are just trying to apply for things to "buy your time".

Because while I was in my PWGP work permit status, I became eligible for PR and applied for it. But because of this DUI conviction my PR was rejected mentioning as am “criminally inadmissible” to Canada. But at that time I’m already in canada. But, I have never received any removal order or any of such. So before expiry of my PGWP itself I have applied for TRP along with work permit extension application.
so can I continue working under implied status ?
no clear information is provided any where about this

If I continue to work will there be any consequence in future. Am really worried about this

I would recommend getting a consult with an immigration lawyer.
