Going in person (with appointment) for OCI to BLS Brampton. Anyone here can you please let me know pitfalls. Do not / cannot afford to pay BLS extra $$ for basic stuff. My questions --
1. What did in-person folks who went recently, filled for National Identification Number. I know its mandatory from BLS side and one of Citizenship Cert No. or passport No. Which one of these is it?
2. Any specifics needed for Kids application other than whats mentioned in Checklist? Do kids need to sign etc?
Any tips / tricks / real life experiences ? Sorry if this is a re-post but want to get inputs from folks who recently applied in-person.

No change in status(still showing processing in consulate) I walked in to BLS (hoping to hear that ‘your OcI is here. Couldn’t update the status because of system issues!!). They too don’t have additional information than what I see in bls tracking. They advised me to send an email to OcI officer in CGI Vancouver.
I submitted mine on Aug 1st and it's also showing 'under process' i.e 'processing at high comission'. When I applied the person at the counter said it takes 2 - 3 months for Ottawa. A comment on this thread a few weeks back said I think 8 - 9 weeks or something. Keeping fingers crossed for us Ottawa folks.
Thanks. . This is exactly where confusion started. His 10 month old video asks to fill Citizenship Cert number is National ID. Now he asks to fill Passport number. Also one of my friend called BLS and they asked to fill Citizenship Cert number while everyone else asks to fill passsport number as National ID. What did you guys actually fill this field with ?

I kept it empty. Whatever you write in this field is not printed on the form you submit to BLS. High Commission and Consulate don't seem to care about it as it's not mandatory.
