100% agreed.. the whole thing has been put on the backburner with other geo political issues taking precedence .. I have my doubts on it getting started anytime soon..
Hello! Posting again as I did not get a reply yet - This might be a silly question but my friend plans on applying for OCI and he was born in Canada and is above the age of 18. On all the checklists etc. I only see the category of "Application for OCI to Minor Children" but in the list of who can apply for OCI in general it does say anyone 'who is a child or a grand-child of such a citizen' can apply. Do we just follow the checklist for minor children for my friend (so birth certificate, NOC signed by both parents etc.)?

Since your friend is 18, he or she is considered an adult as per Indian law. So your friend will have to begin an adult OCI application and fill in the information as asked. I am assuming your friend is applying for OCI based on parents Indian heritage so your friend will have to select that as an option to the specific question based on which OCI is being applied.
If using BLS's pickup/dropoff option online, you have to choose one application per package. For return courier they want you to pay courier fee per application which makes sense as each are processed separately and do not necessarily have the same time line. That said, sending in two applications together in one package should be acceptable, but I really do not know.
When you call then to do the Purolator, just have to tell them it’s two packages so they will tell you to send as one, but to pay extra for the return as when they return it they will return it separately. As they said each one gets processed on its own time. For the return you have to pay for 2 separate.
