Any idea what the surrender timelines are like for Vancouver?

I have Passport Surrender appointment booked for 3rd Oct and OCI appointment for Nov 5th. I travel for 2months after so I really hope they can complete this in a month?

Should be ok, from what I have noticed on this forum, Vancouver has a better turnaround time than other BLS locations

Does anyone know, if I use BLS postal pick up and drop off services for a passport surrender application, do I still need to include my original CA passport and citizenship certificate in the package? It mentions everywhere that original is required and will be returned but it doess't make sense in a postal application and I'm hesitant to include my CA passport in the surrender package.

you only have to include Original Indian passport and self attest all other documents (sign and dated)

You dont need surrender of citizenship/cancellation of Indian passport to apply for eVisa. Usually applicants who apply for eVisa usually get the visa approval by within a day or 2

Is e-visa different from entry visa as entry visa requirements clearly mentions surrender certificate mandatory?

yes e-visa is only for 60 days while entry visa is valid for multiple entry. Also the latter can be issued only to Indian origin folks

Normal times yes but now the online application does not have Canada in the list of countries to be selected.

Yes , I know that , so I am in process of applying OCI after surrender passport. But in case Visas open , I will opt for e-visa
