Sep 22, 2022 - Purolator delivered application at BLS Surrey.
Oct 12, 2022 - Application received on BLS website. Didn't check BLS website after Oct 6. Status might have posted earlier.
Oct 14, 2022 - Processing at Consulate General on BLS website.
Oct 15, 2022 - Received Police Verification Initiated email.
Oct 23, 2022 - Police Verification completed.
Oct 26, 2022 - Status on Passport Seva - "Print has been initiated for passport".

in you courier what did you provide for a Canadian address? did you have to send your original driving license or PR card?

Nov 2 : Purolator Pickup
Nov 7 : Reached BLS
Nov 10: Processing at consulate general
Nov 23: Under review at consulate ( in console : "Granting Initiated" )
Dec 2: Print Initiated ( No Police verification in India probably because current address is Canadian, Had my PPC done in 2019 for PR and attached indian address proof + Aadhar card)
Dec 7 : Passport printed.
Dec 8 : Ready for dispatch and later with Purolator details on BLS website
Dec 9: Passport arrived.

for the canada status did you have to provide any original documents in the courier such as PR card or driving license?

Also, what Indian address proof did you provide other than aadhar card ? did you send original aadhar document or copy?

Hello, I applied to reissue my indian passport at bls montreal (ottawa jurisdiction). When I track it on this website https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html, it says "Your passport has been printed and being forwarded to Embassy/Consulate. The Embassy/Consulate will contact you once they receive the passport for dispatch."

BLS tracker https://www.blsindia-canada.com/ottawa-jurisdiction/track-application.php says "Processing at High Commission"

How long does it take for them to dispatch HCI ottawa and to montreal? What is the expected timeline here?

Received the new pp today below is the timeline.

Nov 12: Submitted - Walkin
Nov 14: Processing at Consulate General
Dec 7 : Print initiated on passportsewa
Dec 9 : Printed
Dec 12: Dispatched vis Purolater on bls-website

Also, If anyone with experience can andwer my question below.
The passports came stapled together, old stapled to back cover of new passport. Are we supposed use the passport like this going forward? or it is ok to remove the staple and use the new passport standalone. I wish to carry just the new one but my concern is if the staple marks on new passport's back page will have any issues. Looking forward to inputs from anyone who has renewed the passports and used them like this. Appreciate the help and thanks in advance.

I know you are not asking me, but I am/was in the same boat. My passport has been printed and it is with HCI right now. Neither me (in Canada) nor my family (In India; the address I want printed on the passport) received any notificatin for police inquiry.

Fee received: 16/12
File number generated: 16 or 17/12
Under review: 18 to 21/12
Print initiated: 21/12
Passport has been printed and sent to HCI. The Embassy/Consulate will contact you once they receive the passport for dispatch: 23/12
The weekend is ongoing right now. The holidays, the storm, combined with gift/card sending season, I reckon I should have my passport by mid-Jan? I'll update here once done.
Note: I saw these updates on Passport seva website. https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/secure/loginAction. BLS tracker https://www.blsindia-canada.com/ottawa-jurisdiction/track-application.php says that my application is being processed at HCI.

I called BLS centre today. They told me to not pay the shipping fee online for pick up and drop off. They were asking me to do it on phone. Is that legit? They will send shipping label on email.

you have the option to pick up and drop off the package at the BLS centre, if that's the case you probably don't have to pay the fees. besides, you made the call I'm using you got from their website. whatever they say is legit.

It happened to me as well. but I don't remember sharing my CC details, I paid it online while they were still on the line.

is there a difference in processing time for PR with a Canadian address printed on the passport vs the Indian address (work permit). ?

I hope the processing time will be less because the current address is in Canada, but I want to hear about your experience.
