Just got a request for FP today...Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones. Does anyone know if it's possible to get FPs outside of Canada? The link from the website shows that it must be taken in Canada, and I don't want to fly all the way back just for this...
I'm in Europe right now. The link from the site says in Canada only, but RCMP site says any RCMP accredited fingerprinting company would work, and those companies allow you to send FPs via the post and they digitize them. I assume that's how it's done in the US as well?

I am not sure if there is any special rule for Canadian citizenship applicants to get fingerprinted in Canada ( I doubt there is), but I know several people who live in the US who have obtained RCMP checks for other purposes by submitting finger prints to a RCMP accredited fingerprinting company. In fact in Canada too, you do not go the police, you go to a RCMP accredited fingerprinting company. They usually take your fingerprints digitally and send it to RCMP. Only a few do it non-digitally nowadays.
You will need to find an RCMP company in the country you are in.
Hello all, I did my interview yesterday and the agent didn’t really say much, just said she will connect with me if she requires any further documents. Today I saw there was just a ghost update, but nothing was completed. So what does that mean?

Thanks for the info! When I logged in to check my app status on cic, there's a link that leads here, which shows that it must be done in Canada. However, I did not find that restriction anywhere else, or even in the letter emailed to me, so I assume it's good.

Yes I’ve passed the citizenship test back in December 2021. They put me in for the interview yesterday. Today I just saw a ghost update but nothing was completed.
