wrong year on citizenship card??? please please help!

im sponsoring my parents and im PR card holder, my husband is co signer (citizen) with me. Now evrything was ready but at the end we recognize that year in which citizenship card was issue to my husband is showing 2001 but my husband got his citizenship in May 2003. Im so tense now please anybody guide us what should we do know?? please please help!

all you have to do is call them and tell them what you've told us here, and ask if this is an issue. Also, is there a case number you have that you can send a written declaration of the difference? Honestly, this is a error of CIC, not yours, so I think you can calm down a little bit!

what will happen if we send them photocopy of current citizenship card with our apllication nd write current year and month in form 1344A B(8)? will they accept our application or send back to us for correction? please guide me!waiting for the reply!!

When I got my citizenship, we were told that the date on the card is when it's printed and has nothing to do with the date you got your citizenship. I'm not sure why it would be as much as 2 years off though unless he postponed the exam/ceremony or had to appeal. My card is dated 5 months or so before I got my citizenship.

For all reference to your citizenship with immigration, the date on the card is of no importance, it is the day you became a citizen that is important and that is the day of the oath and would be displayed on your paper format certificate.

I got solution of my problem, my husband called to CIC and the year on the citizenship card is the year in which you submit your application for citizenship. Im very happy! Thank you god!
