Would withdraw father's immigration application affect mother's?

My parent are are at their second medical examination stage now. However, my father decided not come to Canada. Do I need to inform CIC to withdraw my father's application? Would that affect my mother's immigration application? Thanks in advance!

You can't withdraw your father from the app. You can change him to non-accompanying but he must still undergo the medical and meet all the requirements.

Thanks for your prompt response. What would happen if my father does not complete the medical examination within the required time (I believe it’s 30 days)? Would that affect my mother’s application even She completes the med examination in time?

Yes - this will affect your mother's application.

Your mother will be refused. They must both complete and pass the medical.

Thanks! Looks like there is no other way but asking my father to complete his med examination.
