Would my SIN Number be still valid if applied for PGWP before student visa expires?

Hi All,

I applied for Post Graduation Work Permit in mid April and student visa expires on May 10. Would my Sin Number be valid or do i need to call Service Canada to extend the date on SIN? I want to apply for CERB for which i need valid SIN Number.

Any leads would be appreciated.

Your SIN remains valid. You can't extend it until you actually receive your work permit.
